Dog training for Luxembourg – assistance dogs, therapy dogs and behavior therapy
Many of our teams come from Luxembourg – to train an assistance dog or a dog for social work, for behavior therapy, or for our dog trainer education.
Sessions, training and consultations are held in German. The detail pages and the contact form are in German as well.
We don't have a training ground in Luxembourg. You come to us in Merzig with your dog. Everything that can be learned without the dog runs through our online learning area – so you only travel for the sessions where you really need to train together.
Assistance dogs
Training an assistance dog – preparing for Luxembourg
We support you in owner-training your assistance dog. You train with your dog in everyday life; we guide you, track progress and build up the tasks you need step by step.
We train three types of assistance dog:
- Mobility assistance dog – picks things up, opens doors, brings the walker or wheelchair closer, helps with dressing.
- Psychiatric assistance dog – provides security, creates distance on cue, interrupts distressing states through contact or deep pressure.
- Alert dog – for example with diabetes or epilepsy.
The initial consultation takes 90 minutes and costs €89 – credited if you start training with us. And if we aren't the right fit for you, we'll tell you then.

Preparing for requirements in Luxembourg
Our goal is to train and prepare you so that you can meet the requirements of a later external assessment in Luxembourg as reliably as possible: everyday safety, dependable behavior in public, good handling and the tasks you need.
Which assessments, recognition or documents are required in Luxembourg depends on the rules that apply there. We cannot guarantee an external assessment or recognition – but we can prepare you for it in a targeted way.

Dog trainer education – for a career or your own dog
Our dog trainer education is for anyone who wants a solid understanding of dogs – whether you plan to work with dogs professionally or want to use the knowledge with your own dog.
Learning, body language, development, stress and emotions, building training plans, behavior problems, biology and veterinary basics, and practical work with dog and owner.
Theory is online, practice takes place with us.

- You contact us by form, phone or WhatsApp and briefly describe what it's about.
- We figure out which option fits and arrange an appointment in Merzig.
- We agree on the spacing of follow-up sessions together – whatever works for you and your dog.

Are sessions held in English?
No. Sessions, training and consultations are held in German. If you understand German, you'll be fine; if you're unsure, let's talk about it before you start.
Can you prepare us for assistance dog requirements in Luxembourg?
Yes. We can structure the training to prepare you specifically for a later external assessment: everyday safety, behavior in public, handling and the tasks you need. The formal requirements that then apply in Luxembourg depend on the rules there.
Do I have to come to Merzig for every step?
No. For the training programs, theory runs through our online learning area. You come to Merzig for the sessions where you train together with your dog.
Can I check beforehand whether my dog is suitable?
For therapy, school, visiting or office dog training there is a free aptitude test with no obligation. For assistance dogs, suitability is part of the initial consultation and the assessment that follows.
